News - Ghost's Upcoming EP to be "Extension of 'Meliora'
MyRock interviews one of the nameless ghouls from Swedish occult band, Ghost, asking them if they had started work on a follow-up, his response seemed to confirm both plans for a new album and an EP release just on the horizon:
"Yes, we are working on a new album, slowly. It's sort of taking shape. Right now, we are about two months away from an EP release. That EP will sort of connect with 'Meliora', so it's not [going to feature] a new Papa, it's not a new album; it's gonna be like an extension of 'Meliora'. That is gonna prolong the tour. So we're gonna do an American tour in the fall, and then we're gonna come back to Europe in the beginning of next year and do a bigger, sort of final 'Meliora' show. And in between now and then, we will work on the new album, and after the European tour in the beginning of , we're gonna go into the studio and record a new album."
'Meliora' was my favorite album released in 2015, I found every track phenomenal. That album in my opinion was when the band evolved from a cool gimmick into a serious band that was starting to fully embrace their potential. I've enjoyed their whole discography thus far, it's just this album reached a whole other level for me. So it pleases me that this upcoming EP will be an extension of this, even if it's mostly covers.
Well, I just started my countdown to their fourth album, it's going to be a brutal wait, but at least we've got that EP dropping in a couple of months.
