Trailer - 'The Lighthouse'

Trailer - 'The Lighthouse'

The Witch, for me, wasn’t an instant hit. I appreciated the attention to detail and the authenticity of the period setting and the performances, but it didn’t quite click…until my second viewing. I now view The Witch as a borderline masterpiece and it made me a fan of director Robert Eggers. Now, his second feature, The Lighthouse, looks even more ambitious and has been receiving rave reviews from early screenings...and the trailer just dropped which you can view below:

I am SO down for this! This genuinely looks like a film that could have come out in the 40’s, the film-craft and aesthetics are instantly gripping and drew me into the setting so well. And though it’s just a trailer, the performances from Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe seem superb. I can’t wait to see Eggers portrayal of two men descending into madness in a creepy lighthouse.

The Lighthouse hits theaters on October 18th, 2019.
