Trailer - 'Fantastic Beasts

Trailer - 'Fantastic Beasts

I thought the first Fantastic Beasts was a decent film, albeit one without stakes or any real direction. It was a fun diversion that didn't offend and I left happy enough. Now we have the sequel, which seeks to give the Fantastic Beasts franchise more of a direction going forward by adding a young Dumbledore (Jude Law) and his arch...frienemy? Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Here's the first teaser:

My first impression after watching this trailer is that this looks a lot more interesting than the first film. There's a conflict driving the story of this one that many have been wanting to see; that of Grindlewald and Dumbledor. While I did enjoy the first film, when you think about it, it was simply a collection of antics where Newt would try and track down his various different creatures as they ran amok in New York.

Whether Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald lives up to the expectations or not, you better believe I'll be there to see how things go down on November 16th, 2018.
