Trailer - 'Hellboy'

I think a lot of people were curious to see what a Guillermo Del Toro/Ron Perlman-less Hellboy would look like. David Harbour certainly cuts a convincing figure as the titular character but up until this latest trailer there’s been a huge question mark hovering over this one. Let’s take a look at the trailer below:

Okay, so, positives: David Harbour looks and…sorta sounds the part, even though I’m still way more enamored by Ron Perlman’s portrayal. The effects look pretty good and there’s some interesting new demonic beasts that it looks like Hellboy will be facing off against. That said, the rest of the cast and the acting in general leaves a lot to be desired. There’s still not enough here for me to cast judgement, but so far this doesn’t look like it will be as good as the older two films.

Hellboy will hit theaters April 12th, 2019.
