Trailer - 'Missing Link'

Trailer - 'Missing Link'

Laika won me over two years ago with their absolutely superb film, Kubo and the Two Strings. Before that, they stumbled slightly with The Boxtrolls, delivered family-friendly Halloween thrills with Paranorman, and creeped me out with their genuinely enchanting yet off-putting debut, Coraline. They are one of the last standing bastions of stop-motion, so you better believe I perked up when I saw that they were releasing a new film. Here’s the trailer for Missing Link.

I’ll be honest, after watching this trailer I can’t say I’m incredibly excited to see this film. It looks fun, quirky and humorous, but it feels like it’s not aiming as high as Kubo was. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to watch it, but the brief hype I had is now gone. I’m sure it will be great and I’m sure their are surprises, but this trailer didn’t sell me.
