Trailer - 'Leatherface'

Trailer - 'Leatherface'

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, along with Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street just don't seem to ever go away, and that's because fans still show up and keep holding out hope that just maybe the next one will get it right. Anyway, there's already a trailer for this year's Leatherface, so take a look and we'll discuss it below:

Well, it looks like Leatherface is back and while he's not excitedly revving and waving his chainsaw above his head he sure is still killing a bunch of helpless victims. To me, this trailer is a cut above your run-of-the-mill slasher trailer, there's more attention to detail and some suspenseful scenes that look like they might be legitimately scary with the appropriate build-up. That said, it still looks pretty generic, and I'm really missing the manic nature of the first two films that separated The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from its peers. This simply looks like a serviceable Friday the 13th film, but maybe the directing duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, who have proven themselves before with Inside can bring something new to the table.

Leatherface buzzes his way into theaters on October 20th, 2017.
