Trailer - 'Black Panther'

Trailer - 'Black Panther'

I'm a bit surprised that Marvel Studios decided to release their Black Panther trailer this early, could this have been spurred by the explosive success of Wonder Woman? Either way, I'm not going to complain, it's just a little odd because I feel like they just released their trailer for Thor: Ragnarok a few weeks ago. Anyway, take a look:

As per usual, this looks like a damn good time. While I feel like Black Panther's integration into Civil War was merely "okay", Chadwick Boseman oozes the charisma necessary to play T'Challa and I can't wait to see a movie focusing on the character.

The trailer is short and sweet, and gives us a little taste of what to expect from the film. The brief glimpses of Wakanda are pretty stunning, even though I would have preferred the misty jungle look that was hinted at at the end of Civil War. There's still some CG that needs work, particularly the money-shot at the end where Black Panther flips off of one car and onto another, but these are very early days and I'm sure everything will look perfect by the time it's February release date rolls around. For now, I'm super excited to see Black Panther brought to life in his own movie and I hope it turns out great and achieves breakout success like Wonder Woman.

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
