Trailer - Max Steel

Trailer - Max Steel

Mattel is finally bringing its first feature film to theaters based off of the Max Steel action figure. The film's called *drumroll* Max Steel, and its been sitting on a shelf collecting dust for a couple of years. Having no knowledge of Max Steel at all I thought this trailer looked, well, okay?

You know, if this were the first movie of its kind I might be a little excited for this. That being said, I've been burned far too many times by films like this and I honestly don't think they've ever gotten them right. The first Transformers kind-of came close and G.I. Joe has a few fun moments, but I really don't see this standing out from the crowd. It also doesn't help that the film looks pretty generic in terms of the way it's shot and the uninspired dialogue. I'm not expecting this to be a terrible film, in fact I think it might be serviceable to the crowd it's marketing itself to. I just don't see anything new or interesting about the movie at all from this trailer, which is not a good sign.
