Ben Affleck Gives Us a First Look at Deathstroke
Is Deathstroke appearing in Justice League? The already confirmed Steppenwolf makes a little more sense as he has god-like powers akin to the abilities of the Justice League. Deathstroke, however, is just a highly-trained assassin. Is this to be a cameo? Or is Deathstroke actually going to be one of the main adversaries? Or none of the above? Who knows.
It was also just revealed through the wrap that Deathstroke will be the main villain in Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie. This would make more sense, but seeing as how they already have footage for this I would presume he makes a little appearance in Justice League, or are they already working on Batman?! I'm so confused. Anyway, enough talking, here's the reveal:
Looks pretty great! I'm hoping this is test footage for the Batman solo film, but if it's another cameo, so be it. I'm just a little more excited for what Ben Affleck has planned for the Bat's solo venture, seeing as how it's set to take place inside Arkham Asylum.
For those not in the know about Deathstroke; his real name's Slade Wilson, and he's had run-ins with a good number of the members of the Justice League at one point or another. He is highly proficient with just about any weapon and is excellent at hand-to-hand combat. This makes him a logical enemy for Batman rather than the entire Justice League. This isn't Deathstroke's first live-action appearance though, you can also see him in the first couple seasons of 'Arrow', played faithfully by Manu Bennett.
I'm very excited to see how this all plays out, though I hope they leave him out of the Justice League. The DC movies have had a spotty record with cameos lately, though I did enjoy the little bits of Batman in Suicide Squad. I just get the feeling that Deathstroke would feel out of place in a Justice League film, but what do I know?
