Lumiere and Cogsworth Revealed for Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'

Disney's starting to really hit their stride with these adaptations of their animated classics. First we got Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella, then came the excellent retelling of The Jungle Book from Jon Favreau, and now Pete's Dragon. Next up we have the very promising looking live action version of Beauty and the Beast. Everything I've heard from this picture so far has me excited. It's directed by Bill Condon and stars Emma Watson as Belle along with Dan Stevens as the Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston. Today Disney released first looks at both Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Ian Mckellen). Disney also released a shot from what looks to be a tavern, could this be the famed Gaston song? I certainly hope so.

I'm actually more excited to see how this film turns out than any of Disney's previous live-action re-tellings. I hope that the spirit of the original is maintained along with all of the immensely catchy songs. The Jungle Book did this perfectly, despite leaving out a few tunes so I hope this film follows suit.

Beauty and the Beast is slated to hit screens March 17th, 2017.
