Trailer - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I thought the first teaser for Rogue One was good, but I wasn't nearly as blown away by it as I was the first teaser for The Force Awakens. The new trailer dropped today in hopes to prove that it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the main-line Star Wars films. While it still doesn't quite reach the dizzying heights of the promotional material that surrounded Episode VII, it does seem grander and establishes itself better as an important story that deserves to be told.
Yeah, that's more like it. I'm loving how real and gritty this film looks. It has the same aesthetic that episodes IV-VII had. Also, if this music is part of the film's score, I'm really liking where that is heading as well. I hope to God that those extensive re-shoot rumors were false, I want that rumored war movie. I'm still not quite sold on Felicity Jones, but at least I didn't have to hear that "I rebel" line. Oh, and we got a split-second of Vader! If that's not worth the price of admission alone, I don't know what is.
I'll definitely be seeing this on opening night, and I hope it's as great as this trailer makes it out to be. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16, 2016.
