News - First Two Stills Released for Guy Ritchie's 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword'
Looks like Warner Bros. have decided to get the marketing ball rolling for the King Arthur retelling as they've released through entertainment weekly an official title and two stills featuring the leads. The new film is the first in what is rumored to be seven films (*gasp*) and will officially be titled: 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword'.
In the first pic we get a look at Charlie Hunnam as the titular king. He's looking grizzled yet fashion-conscious with that hipstery 'do. The scenery looks pretty though. The second image showcases Jude Law, looking appropriately dickish as he will be playing the villain....Vortigern? Never heard of him.
I may be cracking jokes, but honestly I'm interested in Guy Ritchie's take on the classic tale. I hope we get a much more expanded and gritty world than we've seen in past iterations. As crazy as seven King Arthur films sounds, It also has me wondering if they've got something pretty epic under their sleeves that warrants such a venture. Only time will tell.
'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' slashes it's way into theaters next year on March 24th.
