'Gears of War' Movie Back in Action

'Gears of War' Movie Back in Action

I think most of us are still waiting for that one good video game movie to come out. Sure, Warcraft was the most ambitious one yet, but it still had some huge flaws that I felt prevented it from being a good movie. The next test will be Assassin's Creed, which I'm actually somewhat optimistic about. After that there's still a good number of other video game-based movies coming down the pipeline in hopes of box office glory, and now we have yet another one to add to the pile of contenders.

During a Gears of War 4 launch live-stream, Rob Fergusson, who is Coalition's studio head, dropped some big news about Gears of War's film prospects. Well, it's prospects are pretty good as he stated that there is in-fact a Gears of War film in development once again. The film will be under the banner of Universal with Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark producing. There's no release date for the film yet, but man, I hope this is good. Gears of War is fairly close to my heart and I feel like it could make a really fun movie, but I've said that about a lot of video game-based films that were made and now rest lifelessly six-feet deep in the earth.
